Black Rock Returns to Normalcy This Friday
DUNDEE, NY - Black Rock returns to the normal atmosphere this Friday Night; but then again, nothing is ever “regular” at the Black Rock Speedway.
Hoselton Auto Mall will present a full card of racing action this Friday, June 8, with the starting time, as always, slated for 6:45 p.m. It will also be the third time that a bike will be given away this year to one lucky member of Rocky’s Junior Fan Club.
The Marbles Automotive 358-modifieds return after a week off with their customary near-full field expected after sitting out a week to make room for the monster trucks this past weekend. Steve Paine is the point leader but will certainly have plenty of company once again this Friday.
Todd Henderson was again the man with the Hoselton crate sportsmans on Friday and is pulling away in the point standings. With representatives from the division title sponsor on hand, there will be added incentive to pick up the win in the 20-lap event.
The Freedom Village USA Super Stocks will have their final opportunity to prep for the Bud Foster Memorial coming up next week. Jeremy Wonderling and Donnie Smith are engaged in a tight point battle, just like the actual battle they had on the track this past week.
Bubba Burnell has closed in on the Darl Ellis for the point lead in the Street Stocks, but despite missing an event, Frank Chapman Jr. is the hottest driver in the division right now in his No. 89.
Jared Hill won his second-straight Regional Truck Pro Truck this past week, holding off the top two in points for the division, Chris Leroux and Terry Povoski. Hill is actually tied with Povoski for second so these three are going to be the ones to decide the 2007 Championship.
Scott Yaw remains the point leader in the Signs Plus of Kanona 4-Cylinder division, but handed the spotlight over this past week for Chris McCann, who won his first feature in the No. 4JM.
Rocker Austin hangs onto the point lead in the bandit division as the racing continues to intensify with the 12-15 year olds. Dylan Cecce is second in the standings but has lost some ground in the Championship chase.
General Admission for seven features and more than 100 cars is will still be $10 for adults and $5 for students, with family packages, as always, available at the front gate.
