5 Reasons Why Onyx Summit Weekend Will Be Historic & A Can’t Miss Fall Event

This coming weekend is going to be huge at the Black Rock Speedway as Super Gen Products out of Newark, NY will play title sponsor for the first ever Onyx Summit Weekend at ‘The Rock’.
Super Gen Products, featuring their line of Champion Power Equipment, signed on as title sponsor just days ago making this first time co-promotion between Black Rock and the founders of the Grit Racing Series even bigger than it already was.
Both nights of racing will begin at 7PM with pit gates opening Friday at 4PM. Grandstands will open at 5PM with a reminder that fans with reserved seats being able to keep those reserved seats for all 2015 shows.
As the weekend approaches at the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ we have compiled five reasons why this two-day show is not only historic but a can’t-miss Fall special.
1. $$$ The MONEY $$$. Don’t roll the dice on the total purse you are racing for this Friday and Saturday, Onyx Summit Weekend pulls no punches on the massive payouts being offered across all divisions on September 18th and 19th.
Night #1 Friday:
25-lap Crate Sportsman- $750-to-win, $100 to start for total of $4,500
30-lap IMCA Empire State Series- $400-to-win, $75 to start for total of $2,575
25-lap 4 Cylinder Challenge- $250-to-win, $50 to start for total of $1,800
*If 15 Rear Wheel Drives and 15 Front Wheel Drives show, classes will be split
Night #2 Saturday:
50-lap Crate Sportsman- $2,500-to-win, $450 for 5th, $275 for 10th, $200 to start adding up to $10,000!
30-lap Street Stock Shootout- $600-to-win, $225 for 5th, $100 for 10th, $75 to start adding up to $3,575
NY6A Tour Micro Sprints Paying $1,000-to-win and NY6A tour payout
4-6 Cylinder Enduro Paying $1,000-to-win, $500 for 2nd and $250 for 3rd (40 car min.)
2. The Atmosphere! It all starts Friday night with a chicken barbecue, corn roast available starting at 10PM and a ‘Party In The Pits’ featuring the music stylings of Nicholas Stark who you can hear on QCountry 103.7FM all week this week on the radio. The post-race party and corn roast has been sadly missed over the last 15-20 years but Onyx Summit Weekend powered by Super Gen Products is the perfect time to bring it back.
Saturday will have a championship feel to it with an incredible purse set to be paid out and some of the best Crate Sportsman drivers in the land expected to compete for $10,000.
3. FREE Camping all weekend long! The camping area is open and free all weekend long during all Black Rock Speedway events and Onyx Summit Weekend will be no different. Race fans are welcome to start moving in this week, but asked to try and fill out the camping areas toward Turn 4 first in order to keep the parking areas open for the large crowds expected.

4. The FOOD! We have a very tasty and hearty menu planned for this coming weekend, a menu fit for a Champion.
Friday will start out with a Chicken Barbecue to kick off Onyx Summit Weekend with the corn roast kicking off the ‘Party In The Pits’ at 10PM. Nicholas Stark will be performing while everyone enjoys their sweet corn and their beverage of choice.
Saturday’s menu starts early in the morning with a full buffet breakfast to get you and your race team off on the right foot before Championship Saturday kicks off. The big lineup of breakfast should carry you long enough to an early dinner when Kirk and his crew rolls out their Pork Loin barbecue prior to the races.

5. FREE Crate Sportsman pit passes on Friday night! We want to encourage every driver possible to come out and support this first-time promotion for Black Rock and the Grit Series promoters Nick and Dick Stark.
For the Crate drivers that make the journey to ‘The Rock’ on Friday, they will find a pot of gold at the end of their journey. Each Crate driver that signs in and attempts to qualify will receive a free pit pass for their efforts. Not a bad deal when you get free admission and $100 to start the opening night feature event.

Black Rock Speedway is located at 82 Main St in Dundee, NY and holds dirt track racing weekly on Friday nights from late April through Labor Day Weekend in September. The speedway also hosts special events on the grounds with special races run during the fall months of September and October.
