For Immediate Release – April 19th, 2016

(DUNDEE, N.Y.) – Brace yourselves race fans, the Outlaw Spring Nationals are only 3 short days away and the level of competition for the Friendly Dodge and Ford Big Block/Small Block Modifieds just elevated one more notch.

Waterloo, NY driver Matt Sheppard has added his name to the list of drivers that will compete for the $3,000-to-win Outlaw Spring Nationals.  Sheppard will attempt to add to his career win total at Outlaw Speedway, when Steve Kellogg drops the green flag for 30 laps around the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ on Friday night.

He has been red hot lately, having just picked up a victory at Canandaigua on Saturday night and taking one out of two on Sunday night at Utica-Rome Speedway.  Sheppard hopes that ‘Uncle Mo’ will come knocking once again when his No. 9S Bicknell pulls into Dundee, NY on Friday.

Sheppard will join drivers like Billy Van Pelt, Gary Tomkins, Dale Welty, Ron Cartwright Jr, Tyler Siri, Jordan Siri, Danny Johnson, Alan Johnson, Brady Fultz, Joe Dgien, Derrick Podsiadlo and many more!

The opening Outlaw Spring Nationals on Friday April 22nd will be historic as the Modifieds will race for $3,000-to-win in leg number one of three for the Insinger Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels Outlaw Challenge.

If the Modified winner that night can also win the Outlaw Fall Nationals and Dutch Hoag National Open, they will take home an eye-popping $25,000.  The Friendly Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ford Modifieds will also race for $2,000-to-win on a weekly basis and receive a minimum of $200 for taking the green flag.  The track champion of the division will receive a $5,000 championship for their efforts.

Joining the Modifieds during the Outlaw Spring Nationals will be the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, led by 6-time and defending tour champion Steve Poirier.  The first full points race for the ESS 360's will take place on this night with the tour racing for $2,000-to-win, $250 to take the green and the dash being sponsored by longtime supporter Lane's Yamaha out of Watkins Glen, NY.

In fact, Dundee, NY resident 'Mr. ESS' Malcolm Lane holds the all-time record for ESS wins at the facility known over the years as Dundee Raceway, Black Rock Speedway, Yates County Speedway and now Outlaw Speedway in 2016.  With other tour regulars Jason Barney, Sammy Reakes IV, Paul Kinney, Matt Tanner and Shawn Donath hungry for their first wins of 2016, this show will be a cannot miss!  Outsiders confirmed for Friday night include Davie Franek, Mark Smith, Larry Kelleher and Jared Zimbardi.

The Super Gen Products Grit Series will also be on tap for a thrilling 602 Crate Sportsman event titled the “Showdown at Sundown” that falls on their 2016 American Racer Tour schedule.  Casey Pavlick looks to defend his recent Grit wins at Outlaw Speedway as well as his second-straight track championship in 2015.
