OUTLAW SPEEDWAY DAVE GUERERRI SR. MEMORIAL NIGHT. DOCTOR DANNY JOHNSON WINS 35 LAP MODIFIED FEATURE. GARRETT CHILLOT INVADES AND WINS CRATE SPORTSMAN. WILLY EASLING TAKES STREET STOCK DAVE GUERERRI MEMORIAL, DANNY KERRICK IN HOBBY STOCKS AND CRAIG DECA

Full story and results.  April 17, 2026.

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.

(Dundee, NY) After the Inaugural Dave Guererri Sr. Memorial was lost to Mother Nature a week earlier, the Outlaw Speedway was able to get the event into the record books on Friday, April 17, 2025, under picture perfect weather.

As part of the program the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds were on the card racing for a winner’s take of $4,161.00.

A field of seventeen Mighty Modifieds checked in for the night of competition including several invaders all looking for the big pay day in the thirty-five lap Modified feature event.

With the draw/re-draw in effect The Breeze, Bobby Varin and Wilson, NY native Ryan Susice would lead the field to the opening green flag with Varin taking the early advantage, however his turn at the top would be short lived as he was out of the event after just a couple of laps handing the lead to Ryan Susice who did a masterful job of holding court at the head of the class leading laps three through twenty-four, however it was right after a lap twenty-three restart that Danny Johnson made his way past Susice and would go on to the victory after having shown great patients throughout most of the event.

With four yellow flags on laps six, fifteen, twenty-three and twenty-six it kept the field bunched allowing Johnson to keep the leaders withing striking distance and once he cleared Susice, he was on his way to win number one on the 2026 campaign equaling his victory count at Outlaw in all of the 2025 season.

Jeffery Daugherty lined up ninth on the opening grid and raced within the lead pack throughout the entire distance and he was able to dispose of Susice with just a few laps remaining, but ran out of time as the second generation Elmira, NY speedster had to settle for a close second with less than a half second separating the top two as they sped under the double checkered flags.

Susice capped off an outstanding performance rounding out the podium with 2025 Track Champion, Michael Maresca coming from fourteenth to fourth after failing to make the re-draw.

Bossman and Outlaw Speedway owner, Tyler Siri began the event in the sixth starting slot and advanced one position to round out the top five.

Willy Easling is a young guy in life and like so many others comes from a huge racing family.  In his short career he has already picked up a Mini Stock Track Championship and Hobby Stock feature wins, however his family run operation is now totally focused on the highly competitive Swarthout Recycling Street Stock Division at Outlaw Speedway.  After a Rookie of the Year performance in 2025 Easling came out of the box swinging in 2026.

In the twenty-five lap $1, 661 to win Dave Guererri Sr. Memorial for the Street Stocks, Aksel Jensen from near-by Penn Yan and multi-time Track Champion, Glenn Whritenour of Jasper would lead the nineteen car field to green with Whritenour getting the jump and looked poised to pick up the big pay check and trophy as the Inaugural Winner of the Guererri Memorial.

However, something happened along the way that is not normally seen when GW is leading any feature event.

With Whritenour setting the pace the first eighteen circuits, Willy Easling was able to work by GW after starting in lucky starting spot seven and from there cruise to his first win in the tough Swarthout Recycling Street Stock Division as the event went caution free.

Whritenour had to settle for the runner-up position as he held off another former Outlaw Street Stock Track Champ, CJ Guererri who was trying desperately to win the event named in memory of Dave Guererri Sr.

Guererri began the event alongside Easling as the pair made up the fourth starting row at the drop of the opening green.

Completing the top five were Aksel Jensen who returned to competition after stepping away from the sport for the past several seasons as he was chased across the line by Mr. Smooth, Marc Minutolo of Newark who dropped one position from his original fourth place starting slot.

In addition to the huge payout for the Dave Guererri Sr. Street Stock feature event lap money and other contingencies were distributed throughout the field.

Garrett Chillot is not exactly a household name at Outlaw Speedway, in fact he hails from Springbrook, Pa. which is a hike from his Keystone State residency to Dundee, but he made the long tow worthwhile as he took over the race lead from then leader, Colton Coots on lap five and from there go on to pretty well destroy the field and claim the $2,161 check and trophy by a five second margin over Beaver Dams native, Blake Parsons who came from fifth to claim the runner-up spot.

Lindley’s Josh Nobriga put on a steady drive throughout the entire thirty-lap distance to complete the top three podium finishers.

Veteran competitor, Dale Welty of Montour Falls advanced from eighth to fourth at the finish as he was chased across the line by Brent Ayers of Dundee who began the event in tenth.

Only a pair of caution flags on laps five and eighteen would slow the pace, making Chillot’s win even more impressive.

In Addison, Corning, Hornell and Wellsville NAPA Hobby Stock action, invader, Dusty Decker of Bainbridge would lead the charge of the fifteen-car starting field into turn one, however when they crossed the stripe to complete lap one it was Stanley’s Danny Kerrick taking control of the $1,061 to win twenty-lap feature.

With the first yellow flag waving on lap six it allowed Damon Decker from Afton an opening to slide by Kerrick and assume control on lap nine and hold court at the top through lap fourteen when Kerrick was able to re-take the number one position and from there go on to his second win of 2026 after picking up the Lucas Nationals two weeks previously.

Damon Decker was able to keep all others at bay as he finished second with Jimmy Grant completing the podium.

Jared Hill raced his way to a well-deserved fourth place finish holding off Brighton Grant who nailed down fifth.

All total the caution flag waved three times on laps six, twelve and seventeen, allowing Decker to keep Kerrick within his cross hairs.

MR Grafix Mini Stocks had a more than respectable number of machines on hand with twenty-one checking in for the night of action.

By the luck of the re-draw, Ralph Teeter of Savannah and Lucas Oil Nationals winner, Craig Decamp of Beaver Dams would bring the field to green with Decamp leading the first five circuits until Kenneth Evans of Elmira was able to move past and assume control for the next three laps.

Decamp was able to retake the top spot for three more circuits until Pennellville, NY driver, Nate Powers was able to get past Decamp and lead laps thirteen through fifteen.  However, Decamp was not going to be denied victory lane on this night as he made one last charge past Powers and was able to lead the final four trips around the Fast 4/10 of a Mile Oval and pick-up his second win in as many attempts thus far in 2026 along with the $1,061 payday.

Powers was able to hold on for second at the completion of the twenty lap affair as 2025 Track Champion, Zach Daugherty of Elmira completed the podium finishing right where he began in the third starting slot.

Troupsburg’s Nick Brown lined up ninth on the opening start and advanced to finish fourth while former Mini Stock Champion and Branchport, NY native Jayson Smart rounded out the top five finishers after lining up twelfth on the opening grid.

A trio of yellow flag slow downs on laps two, twelve and thirteen kept the field tightly grouped throughout most of the event.

Congratulations to all competitors.

Up next at Outlaw Speedway it will be the 11th Annual Spring Nationals Cal Lane Memorial as fans will be treated to the first appearance of the 2026 season for the Empire Super Sprints as they will join the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds with each class feature winner picking up a hefty $4,220.

Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Crate Sportsman will race for a winner’s take of $2,220, Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks go for $1,520 to win.

Both the NAPA Hobby Stocks and MR Graphix Mini Stocks will see the feature winners pocketing $1,220.

The 220 symbolic with the car number Cal Swivel Lane ran throughout most of his illustrious career.

Outlaw Speedway continues to celebrate its 69th consecutive season of great racing action at the very popular Yates County Speedway in Dundee, NY.
